Emily Oriold

Emily has appeared on many stages across Ontario. Selected professional credits include Claire in The Maids (Theatre Passe Muraille); Laura in The Glass Menagerie and Francoise in Colette: The Colours of Love (Talk is Free Theatre); Meg in Little Women: The Musical (Victoria Playhouse Petrolia); Mary Deacon in The Outdoor Donnellys (Blyth Festival); Peggy in Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii (Theatre Muskoka); June in The Man Who Came to Dinner and Nunsense (Theatre Cambridge); Sarah in The Lover and Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire (Theatre Three-Eleven); and Jennie Hawkes in the Dora Award winning play Thy Neighbour’s Wife (UnSpun Theatre). Emily is also a professional director and has directed at Talk is Free Theatre, The Blyth Festival, and Theatre Aquarius. Her next directing project will be a new farce titled, Affairs, by Canadian playwright William J. Hackenbrook which she also dramaturged. Emily can be seen on the small screen in several commercials including the recent Maple Leaf Bacon “Proposal” spot and, most recently, appeared in the feature film, Hit List, directed by Minh Collins (OIC Productions, Los Angeles). She can also be heard lending her voice to five Shakespeare CD-ROMs as Juliet, Ophelia, Helena, Portia, and Lady M.
